Coach Alessandro "Apoka" Marcucci will be kept in BOOM even though he is suspended for five months. The main name of the Brazilian team received a punishment of five months after suspecting to have used the "coach" bug inside CS:GO. "Apoka" even made the position of coach available to another person, but the BOOM team chose to keep the coach in the organization.

The confirmation of this news came last Wednesday through an official note from the organization. In the note, BOOM "firmly believes" that "Apoka" at no time used the bug intentionally.

While we are disheartened with ESIC’s decision to penalize Apoka, we respectfully accept and will comply with their decision. However, we could like to make clear our support for Apoka, and our decision to stand by him and continue working with him.” – stated the organization.

The punishment for "Apoka" was 5.4 months of suspension after being caught using the bug in six matches between the years 2017 and 2020. In these years, the coach worked for the Luminosity, INTZ and BOOM teams. "Apoka" reported through his streams that ESIC (the organisation investigating the cases) punished him for suspecting evidence that he used the bug to support the LG team.

“I spent all 2 maps completely still without moving my mouse. On that moment, we were on a Gaming House where I normally was sitting behind the players (I will show photos of it and I have vlogs on my channel to prove it), my computer both in Canada and the USA was always facing the back of the players and usually I wasn’t on my PC." – detailed Apoka.

BOOM organization had excellent results on the Brazilian scenario in the year 2020. In total, the team was present in six titles and managed to take the victory in all. BOOM even managed to get a place in the American minor, however, it was cancelled.

Check below BOOM full statement:

“Recently, we were informed of the penalty given by Esic to our CS:GO coach, Apoka, regarding the coaching bug issue. After carefully looking at the evidence and discussing with the team, we firmly believe that Apoka did not intentionally use this bug to gain an unfair advantage, nor was there an unfair advantage to exploit. Apoka himself fully cooperated with their investigation and has explained his side of the story on his streams, where he explains a failure to disconnect due to his not being on his pc. We hope you believe him as we do."

"Moving forward, while we are disheartened with ESIC’s decision to penalize Apoka, we respectfully accept and will comply with their decision. However, we could like to make clear our support for Apoka, and our decision to stand by him and continue working with him. He Has been and continues to be integral part of our CS:GO team and its many successes. #HungryBeasts we will get through this together. – BOOM Esports.”
